About
Dale Whitaker writes the Hill & Dale road atlases for people who travel by RV and car. Every map is drawn from public data and every fact in the books is checked against an official source, with the date it was read.

How the atlases are made
The maps are drawn from public data: U.S. Census Bureau roads and places, USGS elevation and place names, OpenStreetMap, and the agencies that run the parks, forests and highways.
Facts that change, like seasons, closures and services, are read on the official pages and dated in the book. If a fact could not be confirmed, it is not printed.
